Jackie Roxworthy

Jackie Roxworthy is an occupational therapist with eight years of experience supporting children and young adults in both therapeutic school and clinic-based settings. She earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from New York University and began her career in New York City, where she spent the majority of her career working in a specialized therapeutic school serving students ages 5–21 with speech and language disorders. In this setting, Jackie supported children and their families across a wide range of developmental and neurodivergent profiles.

Jackie has extensive experience working with children who have sensory, motor, regulation, and executive functioning needs. She is also skilled in promoting transition-based life skills, including community participation, pre-vocational skills, cooking and meal preparation, and independent living. She is passionate about helping individuals build independence and lead meaningful lives through functional, real-world experiences.

Known for being compassionate, supportive, and patient, Jackie is a thoughtful communicator who values the importance of collaboration with families. Her therapeutic approach is strengths-based, relationship-driven, and designed to build trusting partnerships that foster regulation, participation, and growth in everyday activities.

Jackie has completed advanced training in DIR/Floortime, Learn Play Thrive’s strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming courses, Collaborative and Proactive Solutions, Therapeutic Listening, and sensory integration coursework.

Jackie recently relocated to Chicago to be closer to family. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading, line dancing, and spending time with her husband and their two cats, Millie and Ziggy.
