Smart Strategies for Parents and Educators

AZ+A therapists help parents and teachers understand the “whys” of behaviors at home and in the classroom. OT’s use a holistic lens to identify possible underlying root causes of behaviors seen on a daily basis. Using our unique knowledge base of sensory processing, motor development, and emotional regulation, we encourage further understanding and develop ‘in the moment ‘ strategies for children, families, and teachers.

Parent participation is an important component of the play and relationship-based therapy methods at AZ+A. We support parents through this journey by offering parenting seminars, private parents sessions, parenting groups and our entire staff is here to welcome you to AZ+A and answer your questions along the way.

Collaboration with educators throughout our community enriches the learning experience for everyone involved. From a classroom in-service where we are asked to observe overall behavior and identify possible red flags to working with a specific child in their classroom, our role is to complement the teacher’s efforts and strengthen the student’s school experience by working with them in “real life” situations. We are pleased that AZ+A programs, such a The Write Group, Building Blocks, Feeding Therapy, are offered in local schools.
