Karen Dilfer, MS, OTR/L

Occupational Therapist

Karen has a bachelor of science degree from Calvin College and a masters of science degree from Washington University in St. Louis. She is trained in Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT) and has completed post-graduate education in Ayres Sensory Integration.

Karen is a feeding specialist who trained with Marsha Dunn Klein, the founder and creator of the Get Permission Approach to Feeding©. She is experienced in working with infants and toddlers and is currently an instructor in the Early Intervention Training Program (EITP) in Illinois.

A fun-lover by nature, Karen finds it amazing to see kids and their families grow closer as they work and play together. She has a strong pediatric background and loves to help children with motor, sensory, and mealtime challenges.

In addition to being an occupational therapist and feeding specialist, Karen is a food enthusiast. She is a member of a donut club, which has been meeting since 2012, and spends a lot of time cooking and eating with friends. A Chicago native, Karen enjoys discovering new restaurants. When asked, Karen said if her career hadn’t been in OT, she might’ve been a Podcast host or radio personality. We think she could do both!
